More and more people are trying to replace corn tortillas with other options such as the cactus tortilla or using nopales as tortillas. That’s why we share a taco recipe with very healthy nopales and chicken.

Nopales are a delicious Mexican ingredient, like tacos.

Ingredients

  • nopales cambray (the nopales chiquitos and that are thin)
  • boiled and shredded chicken
  • Dried oregano
  • finely chopped white onion.

SAUCE:

  • 1 large tomato
  • 4 guajillo chiles without tail or seed
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • Salt or chicken powder consommé
  • ½ cup of water

Instructions

  1. To make the sauce: you are going to cook the ingredients in a pot over low heat.
  2. When the tomato is soft and burst, you turn off and put everything in the blender, you liquefy and you’re done.
  3. If you want the most liquid sauce, you put a little more water on it. This is to your liking.
  4. For the recipe it is better to leave it Spanish.
  5. For nopales: You put them to cook in a pot with water, and a piece of onion, some branches of coriander and salt, cook on low heat until they are very soft, you take them out and drain them.
  6. They must be very well cooked to be able to roll up.
  7. To put the taquitos together: you are going to put the nopales in a table, sprinkle them with oregano and a little salt, stuff them with the chicken and roll them up.
  8. If you need to put a toothpick in the put and remove when serving.
